Barnacles

Sculpted ceramic pieces inspired by the Salish Sea, an inland sea located in the Pacific Northwest, a large body of water surrounded by temperate primordial rain forests and mountains. Barnacles leave scars where they once lived and can leave a beautiful patterns of calcified foundations. As a BRCA+ person I found exploring the female form covered in barnacles an interesting process of acceptance and finding beauty in the process.
